Aberdeen – UK oil and gas production company Total Exploration and Production UK (TEPUK), has awarded a General Maintenance and Operations Support Contract (GMOC) to PBS, a recently formed Aberdeen-based consortium. The contract is effective from Q2 2020.
Ponticelli, Brand and Semco joined forces in 2019 to establish PBS, an integrated services consortium led by Ponticelli, to tender and prepare for the implementation of the GMOC project.
Under the terms of the 5-year contract, PBS will manage asset integrity, maintenance and reliability, fabric maintenance, shutdowns and modification projects for all TEPUK operated assets, which currently produce in excess of 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
PBS’s key objective for TEPUK’s UKCS assets is to be the best fit in terms of value, innovation and collaboration. PBS will standardise ways of working across TEPUK assets and make greater use of technology to improve efficiency and reduce operations and engineering costs, whilst maintaining the highest standards in asset integrity, safety or environmental performance.
Commenting on the contract award on behalf of the PBS consortium, Thierry Le Gangneux, Group Executive Vice-President and Director for Ponticelli UK Limited, said: “This award represents an exciting formation of a new consortium based on shared values, visions and the need for change within the industry. We have worked with Total previously in Europe and West Africa and this long-standing relationship means we are well positioned and committed to providing safe, reliable and efficient operational support in the delivery of their GMOC in the United Kingdom. By harnessing each of the PBS partners’ specialist capabilities and bringing them together under the consortium, TEPUK will benefit from our decades of collective knowledge and experience from within the wider Ponticelli, Brand and Semco business units.”
This innovative approach will allow PBS to provide the most efficient and flexible service to TEPUK and is a business model that will be transferable to other assets in the UKCS.
