At Semco Maritime, we have for the past month worked proactively and carefully to minimize the consequences of the current COVID-19 situation and we are continuously stepping up our effort to delay or even reduce the future number of infectious cases.
In order to reduce the risk of infection, we follow the recommendations made by the local governments in the countries where we operate, and we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely to mitigate risks during project execution and to keep our employees and the society safe. In addition to that we are currently aligning our internal guidelines, based on the latest developments and on our corporate and social responsibility towards our clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
This means that most employees are working from home, maintaining the usual quality of service towards our customers. Meetings will be changed into telephone or video meetings or they will be postponed. You may experience longer response times, but if you contact us by email, we will be able to respond to your enquiry faster.
We aim to carry on with our business as usual and hope that our precautionary measures will help slow the spread of the virus.
Precautionary measures include:
-
Employees are asked to work from home office, if possible,
-
Daily senior management team meeting,
-
Careful allocation of resources,
-
Daily update on travel advice and other information on our intranet,
-
Compliance with local authorities in addition to the company specific measures,
-
No visitors to our offices unless it is business critical. All visitors must fill out a form stating travel last 14 days and a personal health evaluation,
-
Travel restrictions for all trips unless it is business critical,
-
Close contact with key sub-suppliers to ensure that they meet our COVID-19 measurements, and work with mitigations, if needed.
We believe that this high standard of safety will help us continue our business operations and project execution as agreed with our clients and partners.
We would like to invite our clients to a dialogue, to secure the best possible deliveries in this challenging environment and please do not hesitate to contact us, if you would like us to elaborate on our risk mitigation strategies or if you have any questions or comments.
