Floatel Victory – Modifications and 5-yearly SPS

The Floatel Victory accommodation rig was dry docked at our facilities in Hanøytangen, Norway, for about 3 months to undergo a 5-yearly special periodic survey (SPS) and various modifications prior to contract work for Maersk Oil in the UK sector of the North Sea.

- Underwater removal of thrusters and assisting with thruster overhaul
- Fixing noise and vibration issues
- Replacing potable water piping
- Installation of instrument piping and valve actuators
- Installation of water mist system
- Extensive flooring and living quarters repair including replacement of doors
- Replacement of utility hoses
- Hull and anode inspection
- Extensive HVAC upgrade
- Replacement of 2 HV switchboards and breakers
- Installation of helideck lighting
Highlights
- Some of the project scopes were carried out offshore - while the rig was mobilising for Hanøytangen - in order to reduce dock time
- Approximately 150 people were involved in the upgrading work
- The Hanøytangen camp area hosted the project staff involved
