Semco Maritime presents ambitious targets within the three focus areas and aims for carbon neutrality in scope 1 and 2 as early as 2023 and full carbon neutrality latest by 2050.

Carbon neutral latest by 2050Decarbonisation is a key element of the new sustainability strategy. Based on an in-depth analysis of the company’s scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions conducted in 2021, Semco Maritime has defined ambitious climate targets and outlined a road map leading to carbon neutrality in own operations and the supply chain latest by 2050.
The road map focuses on activities within three important areas:
- Reducing of the Semco Maritime’s own carbon emissions
- Working with the supply chain on shared carbon reduction goals
- Leading suppliers through the green transition and sharing the risks of innovation
Semco Maritime aims to ensure carbon neutrality in scope 1 and 2 by 2023 and carbon neutrality for the company’s own activities by 2030.
The new sustainability strategy ensures alignment with expectations of the industry, major customers and other stakeholders. Semco Maritime contributes to the shared sustainability journey with innovation and digitalisation, enabling the development of more sustainable solutions for customers.
